Do you know that http://www.merriam-webster.com has a word “ghost” in it’s words collection?
English language was born from material-minded society rather than feeling-based society. As you may know that Eastern is a region that’s rich of story of “ghost” and other spiritual beings compared to Western.
It’s a bit contradicting that logic and or material-based society lists a word that shouldn’t be listed in a standard and famous dictionary. They are scientists and mostly liberalist. They built Large Hadron Collider and Fermilab to understand this universe just like a worm trying to understand Fourier Transform or Quantum Physics.
Most of them reject “ghost” but they write:
Main Entry: 1ghost
Etymology: Middle English gost, gast, from Old English gāst; akin to Old High German geist spirit, Sanskrit heḍa anger
Date: before 12th century
1 : the seat of life or intelligence : soul
2 : a disembodied soul; especially : the soul of a dead person believed to be an inhabitant of the unseen world or to appear to the living in bodily likeness

What do they really want to? Dominate and claim everything? Another form of new colonialism?
